There is another army that has only been briefly mentioned in the lore and deserves a chance to shine. Total War has decided to reintroduce this army and flesh them out, but this isn't the only force that should get this treatment. This army was distinct, but its timing and the issues with the campaign meant that they never made a huge impact. However Total War: Warhammer III has the chance to reintroduce these forces and make them work better than they did on the tabletop.Ī good example would be the Kislev faction, which originally appeared as part of the "Storm Of Chaos" event but faded afterward. Occasionally, forces would be introduced only to be dropped in later editions or only made available for specific campaigns. In the trailer, we are introduced to a massive Tzeentch daemon force with swarms of Chaos Spawn, Horrors, and even some forsaken!īut still, Cathay is prepared, with the Storm Dragon leading the defense with her own magic and plenty of range to chip away at the onslaught of Daemons and give them better chances once it comes to the inevitable melee combat.Īnother sweet unit we get to see unleash havoc is a Soul Grinder! These aren’t too popular on the tabletop, but in-game they look like absolute units, taking on full squads of troops tossing them aside like ragdolls.When Warhammer released its fantasy range it did so with only a few armies for players to engage with. Games Workshop spent the course of the game's lifecycle adding more races to the game, but they didn't always stick around. After the delay announcement, we knew it would be into 2022, but seeing how great some of the trailers look, and now with the bonus faction revealed, the game seems to really be coming together!
